Meet the team
Our team consists of experienced and professoinal surf coaches, professional surfers and knowledgeable welcoming shop staff. We all love surfing!
Tom has worked in our shop since his teenage years. Tom’s favourite type of surfing is longboarding and he has made a few of his own. Tom is very knowledgeable about surfboards and surf hardware so is a great person to talk to if you are after surfing advice.
Angela is a family member and has worked at the surf shop since it was set up in 1995. Angela has a great deal of knowledge about our products and is especially good at finding the perfect wetsuit for customers. Ang has been around the surf scene since it began in Tynemouth.
Louis has been around the surf shop since he was born so knows the place very well. If you are after any in depth or technical surfboard advice, Louis is the man to speak to!
Mel works in the shop alongside running the admin for the surf school and store. She keeps everything organised and is a key member of the Surf Co. You’ll often catch her at the shop or surf school in the summer.
Antonio is another family member that has grown up around the Surf Co. He started off helping out in the surf shop at a young age and has been involved ever since! Antonio specialises in helping out with our online store as well as working in the shop.
Paul Davies also known as ‘Daisy’ has been working at the surf shop most of his adult life. Daisy has always been a key member of the Surf Co. Customers often pop in just to have a chat with daisy and end up leaving hours later.
Alongside working at our surf school as an instructor Hannah also works in our store. Hannah is a friendly character and is keen to help you with products and advice. She especially loves the clothing section of the Surf Co.
Head Coach Louis is former captain of the British Junior Surfing Team and is an ISA level 2 surf coach. He has been coaching surfing from beginner to advanced levels for over 7 years and spent two years coaching at the best surf school in Australia. Louis still competes on the WQS Longboard & Shortboard circuit in-between lessons.
Nathan is our Surf School Supervisor. He is great instructor with loads of enthusiasm and expertise which he gained working at surf schools in Australia. Nathan loves teaching private and intermediate lessons as well as beginner lessons. He is also a very keen rugby player and played in the junior Falcons rugby team.
